bridge the gap & build solutions

Since its founding in 1988, Friendship Shelter has served more than 10,000 individuals through shelter, housing, and supportive services. Each year we help 100 or more people move off the street or out of shelter and into permanent housing. Last year, nearly 100% remained safely and stably housed-a powerful indicator that Friendship Shelter's model works.

Recent growth in Friendship Shelter's permanent housing has fueled exciting changes that have helped more people end their homelessness, but it has also created stress on the organization's infrastructure. Government contracts that pay for these increases in programs do not cover the full cost of operating that program. These contracts leave Friendship Shelter with a shortfall of $2,000 per person per year - or about $800,000 this year alone.

As homelessness continues to rise within our communities, Friendship Shelter's services have never been more urgently needed. Your partnership will help bridge the gap in awareness and resources, ensuring more unsheltered individuals can move from the street to permanent housing and receive the long-term care and support they need to thrive.
